Join us at the third annual Laredo Environmental Summit on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Texas A&M International University's Student Center Ballroom. The Laredo Environmental Summit is the first of its kind to be created and implemented in the City of Laredo, and it is opened to the public in all cities from Webb County. The Laredo Environmental Summit is under the leadership of State Senator, Judith Zaffirini, in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, City of Laredo, Webb County, and a host of other organizations.
Purpose
The purpose of the Laredo Environmental Summit is to bring together federal, state, and local political leaders, neighborhood associations, colonia residents, non-profits, businesses, and students to address the environmental needs and resources in Webb County, especially the Gateway City.
Objectives
Bring together local and state stakeholders to identify problems
Collaborate on solutions to Laredo's environmental challenges
Create a venue where TCEQ can work with the community of Laredo and residents of Webb county to address urgent environmental issues
Educate local students (at all levels) about the environmental issues that exist in our community and instill environmental stewardship.
